Bengal Dancers Win National Title in Hip/Hop Four-Year College Division

Las Vegas, NV --- The Idaho State University Bengal Dancers took home a National Championship, their first ever, winning the Hip Hop Division for four year colleges at the United Spirit Association (USA) College Dance Nationals held in Las Vegas on February 11-12. The Bengals wont he title edging out a pair of Pac-10 teams in Washington State and Oregon. The Bengal Dancers also finished in third place in the Jazz division as well.

The Bengal Dancers title follows finishes of third place in 2006, fourth in 2005, and fifth in 2004 at the USA College Dance Nationals in the Jazz division.

The Bengal Dancers, lead by head coach Hilary Hofmaier, are now preparing for the National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate Championship held in Daytona Beach, Florida on April 4-8. They will be having their Nationals Farewell Performance on Friday March 31 at 7:00 pm, and tickets for the event are $3. The Bengal Dancers finished second last year and won the Innovative Choreography Award in 2005 and 2006 at the NDA Championship.
