Cody VanFleet

Player Profile

Position:
Director of Basketball Operations

Cody VanFleet will begin his third season with the Bengal basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations. In that capacity, Cody will serve as the video coordinator and travel coordinator. Cody will also work with ISU's summer basketball camps.

VanFleet came to Idaho State after spending the 2005-06 season with the Western Illinois Leathernecks as an assistant coach. At WIU, Cody handled day-to-day office operations, as well as recruiting, scouting, and on-the-floor coaching.

On the road, VanFleet handles all of the travel logistics involved with a Division I basketball program, a job all the more important after playing a non-conference schedule ranked 17th nationally. Some of those logistics include setting up practice times, coordinating all video equipment, player tickets, as well as coordinating all ground and air transportation.

During games, VanFleet aids the coaching staff with many of the technical aspects of the game, including coordinating time outs and handling all of ISU's managers and trainers.

Cody spent 2002-2005 at Southeastern Iowa as an assistant coach and sports information director, helping coach O'Brien to a pair of NJCAA national titles. Van Fleet also served as a manager at the University of Iowa from 1999-2002, working with coach Steve Alford, handling film editing and exchange, and camp organization.

VanFleet, originally from Dallas City, IL, graduated from Iowa in 2003 with a degree in Health, Leisure and Sports Studies, and he is currently working on his master's from Western Illinois.
