March 10, 2008
Pocatello, ID --- With Idaho State qualifying for the semifinals for the first time since the 2004 season, ISU Director of Broadcasting Russ Eisenstein has announced that the pregame show will expand for ISU's Tuesday night semifinal game with Portland State, which tips off at 9:07 pm Mountain Time. Everything can be heard on ISU's flagship station ESPN Radio 930 AM KSEI in Pocatello, and on the web via Stretch Internet and Cedar Hills Family Dentistry free of charge. Bengals Gamenight will air from 8:00 to 8:30 pm, with ISU studio host Mark Liptak and color commentator Brad Bugger breaking down the entire tournament and ISU's chances. They will have features and go through ISU's tournament history as well as look back at the season. At 8:30 pm, Bengal preview presented by Budweiser will air, with Russ Eisenstein on site from the Rose Garden with coaches interviews and a preview of the big game. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:07 pm, and it will be shown live on Altitude Sports. The game has a chance to start slightly later depending on the length of the first semifinal game, with features #3 Weber State (16-13, 10-6) and #2 Northern Arizona (20-10, 11-5). The #4 Bengals (12-18, 8-8) take on the league's hottest team in #1 Portland State (21-9, 14-2), who have won 12 straight conference games. The ISU game will mean one streak will end for either team, as the Bengals enter the game having never beaten a #1 seed, going 0-6 overall, and Portland State is 0-3 all-time in semifinal games. ISU hasn't gotten to a championship game since the 1994 season. |
