Joe O'Brien has his third recruit in Daniel Brady

May 11, 2006

Pocatello, ID --- Daniel Brady, a 6-8, 215 pound forward from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Bengals for the 2006-07, becoming the third recruit signed by new head coach Joe O'Brien.

Brady averaged 10.2 points per game and a team-leading eight rebounds, along with six assists per game for Lakeridge High School as a senior. Brady who averaged 6.8 points as a junior, has led Pacers in assists each of the last three seasons. He was named second team All-League as senior as his team finished second in the conference, helping Lakeridge to the state tournament.

Brady joins Amorrow Morgan and Austin Kilpatrick as signees for the 2006-07 Bengals.

Said O'Brien of Brady, "Daniel is a combo forward, and he's going to give us some flexibility. He is going to be able to step out and shoot the three, and he is a very good passer for a big man. He is very skilled for a 6-8 kid."

Added O'Brien, "I think his work ethic and his love for basketball is going to help him improve. He's going to keep growing and get bigger in college...he's 215, 220 right now, and I think he can get to that 230-240 range. He's the type of forward you can do a lot of things with."

Daniel Brady Quotes
"I'm very excited, as this is a great opportunity. Playing Division I basketball has always been a dream of mine. I'm looking forward to coming in and working with the other freshman recruits to make Idaho State better, not only for next year, but in the future.

"I'm just very excited to be a Bengal."

"I really liked the coaching staff. It's an all-new staff, and everything at Idaho State seems to be changing, the basketball program is being changed for the better, and it's exciting to be a part of that for the future. Pocatello seems like a great college town. I can't wait."
