Idaho State at Northern Colorado Game Notes
Pocatello, ID --- Idaho State University has to take a plane to Greeley, Colorado for this week's game with Northern Colorado. The question is what names will on the manifest. The injury plagued Bengals, who might be down six defensive starters, will go after their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon against the similarly winless Bears for UNC's Homecoming game, kicking off at 1:37 pm on Altitude. The Bengals, who own the nation's third-longest losing streak at nine games, will be playing the team with the fourth-longest in Northern Colorado, who have lost seven straight. The Bengals will also be looking for their first road win since October 7, 2006, when ISU beat Northern Colorado 41-13 on Altitude at Nottingham Field. ISU listed many positions as -OR- on this week's depth chart, as ISU lost defensive lineman Josh Crittenden for the year with a torn ACL, and several other players are probably out for this week. However, good news does abound, as Russel Hill has thrown for 300 yards for a school-record tying four straight games, and Eddie Thompson became the all-time leading receiver in ISU history with 189 catches, and now he is getting ready to move up on the Big Sky top 10 charts as well. Michael Wright and Ryan Phipps led the way against Montana State with 11 tackles each, with Wright having two for loss in a spirited effort. The game will be available on The Bengal Radio Network, which is flagshipped at ESPN Radio 930 AM KSEI in Pocatello and KRXK 1230 AM in Idaho Falls. The Bengal Radio Network also contains stations in Idaho Falls (KGTM 98.1 FM), Twin Falls (KTFI AM 1270 AM), Boise (KCID AM 1490 AM), and the newest member of the network, Soda Springs (KITT FM 100.1). Fans inside Nottingham Field can listen to the broadcast on a special stadium signal of 101.9 FM, or a station close to that. The game is also available on Altitude Sports and Big Sky TV. Altitude Sports is located on Dish Network channel 410, and Direct TV channel 688 with Jerry Schimmel of the Denver Nuggets and Blake Olson calling the action. This year Big Sky TV is a free service, and fans just need to register prior to the game for free. |
