Bengals Hold 16th place in Purple and Red Invitational

Layton, UT-- The ISU men's golf team competed in the Purple and Red Invitational hosted by Weber State Monday afternoon. Due to inclement weather the opening round was cancelled. The tournament will be shortened to 35 holes. Currently the Bengals are in 16th place out of 18 teams after the first round with 304 points.

Kyle Prolo had an excellent day with a top twenty finish. Prolo shot a 71 in his first round to tie for 13th place. Dylan Meyer shot a 72 to tie for 25th place in the tournament. With a score of 79 Mark Cowman is tied for 85th place. Jeremy Colson shot an 82 to hold 99th place. With a score of 84 Steve Peters is in 101st place.

Currently leading the tournament University of Utah holds first place with a score of 283. Shane Pearce of University of Texas-Pan American has control of the board with a score of 66.

The Bengals will continue the Purple and Red Invitational with the final round on Sept. 25 in Layton, Utah.
