Layton, UT--Bengals finish Purple and Red Invitational hosted by Weber State in 17th place Tuesday morning with a team score of 608. The Bengals shot a consistent 304 score both rounds. Kyle Prolo took a top 20 finish by tying for 19th place with two-round score of 144.

Dylan Meyer tied for 44th place with a score of 144. To tie for 77th place Mark Cowman shot a 79 his first round and improved to shoot a 76 his second round for a combined score of 155. With a score of 163 Steve Peters took 101st place. Jeremy Colson shot a 168 to capture 104th place.

Boise State University took 1st place with a team score of 567. Troy Merritt of Boise State shot a 69 his first round and a 65 his second round to finish in 1st place.

The Idaho State golf program is a part of the American Sky Conference which includes Weber State, Sacramento State, Hartford, Binghamton, Texas Pan American, Utah Valley, and Northern Colorado. The American Sky Conference Championship results were pulled from the Purple and Red Invitational. The Bengals finished in 8th place in the American Sky Conference with 608 strokes. Weber State finished in 1st place with a score of 579. Two Bengals finished in the top-twenty. Kyle Prolo finished in the top 5 when he tied for 4th place with a 144 two-round score. Dylan Meyer tied for 18th place with a score of 148.

The Bengals will compete in the Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley, Calif. on Oct. 15-16th.
