San Jose, CA--The Bengals hold 14th place after the first round in the annual Santa Clara Invitational at Silver Creek Monday morning. The Bengals posted a team score of 322(+34). Kyle Prolo leads the Bengals with a tie for 29th place.

Kyle Prolo shot a 38 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine for a total score of 74(+2) to tie for 29th place. Prolo had a 2.75 average (-1) on par 3 scoring. Steve Peters is holding a tie for 62nd place with a front nine score of 38 and a back nine score of 41for a total first round score of 79(+7). Junior, Mark Cowman is tied for 72nd place with a front nine score of 40 and a back nine score of 43 for a total first round score of 83(+11). Dylan Meyer shot a 43 on the front nine and on the back nine for a total 1st round score of 86(+14) to hold 77th place.

University of Portland leads the tournament with a team score of 283(-5). Troy Merritt of Boise State University holds 1st place in the tournament. Merritt shot a front nine of 32 and a back nine of 35 for a first round score of 67(-5).

The Bengals will continue the Santa Clara Invitational on Tuesday morning, October 23rd, at Silver Creek.
