ISU's Hannah Venn Takes First Place in UVSC vs ISU Dual

Saratoga Springs, UT-- Hannah Venn shot a round of 79 strokes to place her in first place overall in the UVSC vs ISU Dual Oct. 16. The dual was an 18-hole one round event. ISU won the dual by 31 stokes. ISU shot 328 while Utah Valley State College shot 359.

ISU swept the top three spots at the UVSC dual. Coming in second place just one stroke behind Venn was Brianna Crompton with a round of 80. Katrina Phillips finished the day with 81 stokes and a third place finish. Golfing as an individual Katrina Phillips took fourth with a score of 83. Also as individuals in a tie in fifth place Jennifer Harris and Kera Tucker shot 84. Brittany Austin finished the day in eighth place with a round of 88. Samantha Stanger also finished in eight with an 88. Playing as an individual Emily Evans finished in 12th with a score of 90.

For the men ISU's top finisher was Kyle Prolo with a fourth place finish and a score of 74. Dylan Meyer finished in a tie for sixth place along with Stevan Peters and KJ Weissenbuehler. They shot a round of 76 for the day. Mark Cowman finished the day with score of 77 to place him in a tie for 10th place. ISU's only senior Ryan Nelson scored an 84 to finish in a tie with Jeremy Colson at 84. Weissenbuehler and Jeremy Colson golfed as individuals in the dual.

The UVSC men took the victory over ISU by shooting a score of 290 stokes, 13 strokes better than ISU who finished with 303 strokes. The ISU men's squad will next compete in the Santa Clara Invitational in San Jose, CA Oct. 23. The ISU women's squad will next compete in the Cal Poly Invitational in Arroyo Grande, CA Nov. 6.
