Colorado Springs, CO--The Bengals were swept by Wichita State 7-0 at Air Force Saturday morning. Wichita State improves their season record to 4-1 while the Bengals fall to 1-5. Idaho State's overall percentage is .400 in singles and .133 in doubles.

The Bengals nearly captured the doubles point when they took one of the three doubles contests, but lost the number one spot in a tie-breaker. Freshman Alex Buceta and and sophomore Javier Royo gained the doubles victory for the Bengals by defeating Matt Teivans and Scott McCormick 8-5 at the number three doubles spot, improving their doubles record to 1-4.

Marc Pijoan, a senior, fell to Tiago Espirito Santo in the second set tie-breaker 6-4, 7-6 at the number one spot. Pijoan's overall percentage is now .667 with his 4-2 singles record. Royo was defeated 6-3, 6-2 by Albert Ballesta at the number two spot. Freshman Danel Barrenechea was over come by Thiago Dos Santos 6-1, 6-1 at the number three spot. Sophomore, David Kutchins captured two games in the first set before being defeated by Scott McCormick 6-2, 6-0 at the number six spot.

The Bengals next and final match of the weekend at Colorado Springs occurs against Air Force. The Bengals competed against Air Force earlier this month but were defeated 4-3. Pijoan, Barrenechea and Jeremy Atkin gained victories at the number one, number three and number five spots, respectively. The Bengals look to improve their scores against Air Force on Sunday February 24th at noon.
