REVIEW
The Bengals are coming off a tough week as the men's tennis team had five matches in six days while the women hit the road for all three of their competitions. The men's team posts an 0-2 record in Big Sky play falling in close 3-4 dual matches. Junior Javier Royo posts a 2-4 record at the number one spot. The men added a late dual match to their schedule against Brigham Young University for Wednesday, February 18 at 5 p.m. in Provo, UT.

A LOT OF TRAVEL FOR MEN
Idaho State will play eight of nine matches on the road starting February 10 through March 24. ISU has completed four of their away matches against Weber State, Utah, Air Force and Northern Colorado, in addition to their home contest over Portland State. ISU will still continue on the road for another four matches against Brigham Young, Utah State, Northern Arizona and University of Nevada Las Vegas. The travel will include three Big Sky conference matches.

ROYO NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK ON FEB. 3RD
The Big Sky Conference announced Javier Royo as the Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played the week of Jan. 27 to Feb. 3 where Idaho State hosted Utah State in the Bengals season opener. This is Royo's first player of the week honor. Royo, a native of Zaragoza, Spain defeated Jakob Asplund of Utah State in straight sets at the number one singles spot to claim the first singles victory of 2009 for the Bengals overcoming Asplund in the 6-3, 6-2 contest. Royo also teamed up with Ross DeChant to take on Asplund and Bryan Marchant but the team fell 8-2 at the number one doubles spot.
