2004: Competed only during the outdoor season, participating in three events... Took the 100-meter dash title at the Al Manuel Invitational (4/3) with a season-best time of 10.75... Placed eighth at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships with a time of 11.09 in the 100-meter dash... Finished tied for third place in the 200-meter dash at the Al Manuel Invitational with a time of 22.02... Recorded a season-best mark of 22-8.50 in the long jump at the Mount SAC Relays (4/17)...

2003: Took four first place and two second place finishes indoors in the 55-meter run... Clocked a time of 6.40 in the 55 meter at the Big Sky Championships (2/28), good for ninth on ISU's all-time 55-meter list... Ran to a first place finish in the 60-meter run at the Snake River Open with a time of 6.95, the third best time in the event in ISU history... Took two first place finishes in the long jump during the indoor season... Placed first in the 100-meters at the Wildcat Track Invitational during the outdoor season with a time of 10.60... Fastest time of the year in the 100-meters was 10.54, the eighth fastest time in Bengal history... Finished fourth in the Big Sky Outdoor Championships in the 200-meters with a time of 21.92... Clocked a hand time of 21.4 in the 200-meters, good for a first place finish at the ISU Springfest (5/3)... Placed sixth in the long jump at the Big Sky Championships with a length of 23-8 1/4 (5/17).

Dan Lai was an All-Big Sky performer in the long jump as well as in the sprints in 2002 for ISU


2002: Placed in the long jump at the Big Sky Indoor Championships for the second straight season, going from eighth to third with a leap of 24-1 1/2... He took sixth in the 200-meter with a time of 22.32, after running a season-best 22.17 in the semifinals... Ran his best 55-meter time of the season in the Big Sky Championships prelims with a 6.46 clocking... Followed that up with a 6.51 in the finals to place seventh... Took first in the long jump at the Snake River Open and Montana State Triangular indoor meets... Followed up his strong indoor season with an equally impressive outdoor campaign... Placed first in the 100-meter twice (ISU Springfest and ISU Twilight) and took sixth place at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 10.93... His best 100-meter time of the season came in the prelims at the Big Sky, clocking 10.69... Picked up his lone 200-meter title of the season with a season-best 21.86 at the ISU Springfest meet... Picked up three long jump titles, winning the Boise State Triangular, ISU Springfest and ISU Twilight titles... His best jump came at the BYU Robinson Invitational as he placed third with a wind-aided 23-9.

2001: Was ISU's No. 2 long and triple jumper... Best long jump (22-5) came at the Weber State Invitational... Competed in the long jump at the Big Sky Championships, placing eighth... Was second on the ISU squad in the 100 meter dash, with a wind-aided clocking of 11.04 at Springfest... Best legal mark was 11.09 at the BYU Invitational... Also ran the 200 meter for the Bengals... Season-best mark (23.38) came at Springfest... Also ran on the 4x100-relay team that ranks tied for fifth on the all-time performers list, clocking a 41.55 at the BYU Invitational... During indoor season, was second on the ISU team in the 60-meter dash, registering a 7.05 at the Mountain States Games... The mark placed him fifth on the ISU indoor performers list... Finished tied for 12th in the 55-meter dash at the Big Sky Championships... Topped out in the long jump with a 22-1 3/4 leap to win the Intermountain Championships title... Best triple jump (41-0 1/2) was at the Snake River Open... Also ran the 200-meter dash, clocking season best (23.12) at the Mountain States meet... Only 400-meter effort of the season was at the Montana State Dual.

High School: Competed in cross country and track as well as cross country skiing at Natrona County High School... A four-year track letterwinner... Earned all-conference honors twice for the long jump and all-state accolades once in his career... Was long jump champion in the meet of champions twice during his time at Natrona... Team won the state championship in cross country skiing... Graduated with a 3.75 GPA.

Personal: Parents are Michael and Deanna Lai... Has a brother, Steven... Majoring in Accounting and Finance at ISU.
