Pocatello, ID--Freshman Sergio Jones from Beaverton, Oregon was named the Big Sky Men's Track Player of the week on April 22nd with his performances at the Mark Faldmo Invitational in Logan, Utah. Jones captures his first track player of the week award in his first year at Idaho State.

The Bengal gained Track Player of the Week honors when he met NCAA regional qualifying standards in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the Mark Faldmo Invitational. Jones took third place when he ran the 100-meter dash in 10.50, 0.05 seconds faster than the NCAA Division I outdoor standard. His performance also earned him the seventh best performance in Idaho State school history.

In the 200-meter dash Jones beat the 21.35 NCAA standard by 0.16 seconds when he ran 21.19 for a second place finish. Jones also placed third in the long jump with a distance of 23-03.50 at the Mark Faldmo Invitational.
