Men Notch Third-Place Finish At Color Country Invitational

Cedar City, UT --- Ryan Davis and Logan Torgison finished in the Top 10, leading the Idaho State men's cross country team to a third-place finish at Southern Utah's Color Country Invitational on Saturday in Cedar City, Utah.

The Bengals scored 71 points, behind event host and winner Southern Utah and second-place Utah Valley, but well ahead of Dixie State College.

Davis, a sophomore, earned his second Top 10 of the season, running the 8K course in 26:26.20 to finish ninth. Davis finished 8th at the Bob Firman Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 20 in Boise. Torgison, just a freshman, finished right behind Davis, running a 26:35.60 to take 10th.

Sophomore Zach Barrett, running his second race of the season, finished 17th with a time of 27:19.20. The rest of Idaho State's runners were Aaron Wolfe (25th, 28:20.0), Chaz Anestos (27th, 28:30.2), Kyle Sauer (30th, 28:54.7), Scott Pearson (31st, 29:12.6), Eric Strand (33rd, 29:28.4) and Erik Solberg (35th, 30:39.8).

The ISU cross country teams host the second ISU dual, facing off against Montana State and the College of Idaho on Oct. 18 at the Centennial Course in Pocatello.
