Idaho State traveled to Boise for the Bob Firman Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20. The women's squad finished second out of seven teams, scoring 63 points and topping Boise State. Gemma Maini finished fourth and Erica Wendt came in sixth. The men's team finished fifth, led by sophomore Ryan Davis, who placed eighth by running a 26:32.94 on the 8K course.

ABOUT THE UTAH VALLEY INVITATIONAL
The Bengals will face squads from Weber State, Utah Valley and the University of Utah, as well as the BYU women's team and several independent teams. The ISU women have finished behind the BYU women at BYU's Autumn Classic and at the Bob Firman Cross Country Invitational in Boise. ISU's women beat the Utah Valley women at the Idaho State Dual on Aug. 30 and at the Autumn Classic, and the men finished behind Utah Valley at both events.

MEN'S RESULTS
Idaho State finished fifth out of eight teams at the Bob Firman meet, scoring 120 points and finishing ahead of Northwest Nazarene, Treasure Valley and Dixie State. Sophomore Ryan Davis was the Bengals' top runner for the third consecutive meet, finishing the 8K course in 26:32.94. Logan Torgison came in 15th with a time of 26:48.11, and Chaz Anestos turned his best race of the season, finishing 40th with a time of 28:29.63. The rest of ISU's top seven were Aaron Wolfe (43rd, 28:33.51), Eric Strand (44th, 28:33.99), Kyle Sauer (48th, 28:46.24) and Scott Pearson (60th, 29:08.50).

WOMEN'S RESULTS
ISU finished second to BYU, beating Boise State at the Bob Firman meet. Gemma Maini finished fourth, running the 5K course in 18:37.42. Erica Wendt finished sixth with a time of 18:45.74. Kerynn Davis (19:26.86) and Kris Thomasberg (19:27.59) finished 18th and 19th, respectively. The rest of ISU's top seven were Parris Hodges (32nd, 19:44.71), Mandi Janowitz (35th, 19:58.11) and Chealse Kropushek-Miller (42nd, 20:17.72).
