Weber State Wins Big Sky Cross Country Championship



ISU men took 6th place in the Big Sky Championship

Sacramento, Calif-- Weber State ended Northern Arizona's dominance at the Big Sky Cross Country championship. Weber State took both the men and women Big Sky titles in Sacramento, California.

Despite a strong effort by Lopez Lomong of Northern Arizona who took the individual title the wildcats won the men's title with a balanced attack. Weber State had four finishers in the top ten. Weber St. finished the race with 32 points, 18 points ahead of Northern Arizona who had 50 points. Montana State finished the day in third place with 90 points. The men ran an 8-kilometer race.

Northern Arizona took first and second in the individaul titles in the women's race but also fell to Weber State. Nicole Gueldemeister and Katja Rosenplaenter of Northern Arizona took first and second respectivley. Weber St. finished the race in first place as a team with 39 points. Taking second place was Montana with 82 points. In third place Northern Arizona finished the day with 86 points. The women ran a 5-kilometer race.

The Idaho State men's team finished in sixth place with 168 points. Matt Nelson was ISU's top finisher. The ISU women finished in 5th place with 131 points. Sarah Skeem lead all ISU runners with an 8th place finish and a time of 18:01.2.
