Marekova was an instant spark off the bench last season for the Bengals. Came off the bench in 2003-04 to average 5.7 points in nearly 12 minutes a game. Was impressive from long range, connecting on 42.5 percent of her shots from beyond the arc. A fiesty defender, Marekova tallied at least one steal in nine games for ISU last season. She also recorded five or more rebounds in 10 games last season.

Marekova returns for her senior season after a successful junior campaign.


2003-04: Had a career game in Idaho State's season opener against Lewis-Clark State (11/22), scoring a career-high 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field... Also connected on 4-of-5 shots from beyond the arc and tallied career highs of eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the same game... Had a 15-point effort against Eastern Washington (1/29) in just 10 minutes of play... Was just shy of a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds against Colorado (11/28)... Tallied double-digit points in four games... Was an impressive 42.5 percent from beynod the arc, connecting on 34-of-80 shots from the trey... Helped the Bengals stay close to Iowa State (3/17) in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament with nine points on 3-of-6 shots from three-point range.

Vincennes University: While at the school, Marekova helped the team to a cumulative record of 47-19 and a number eight national ranking... Marekova averaged eight points and three rebounds per game for VU... Played in all 30 games, starting 10... Scored in double figures nine times, including four games with 20 or more points... Received her first start of the season and responded with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field against Lincoln Land (11/29)... Scored 21 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and dished out four assists against Southwestern Illinois (12/2)... Just three days later she scored 23 points on five three-pointers against John A. Logan (12/5)... Scored 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field in VU's win over John Wood (11/11)... As a freshman she played in 25 games, averaged 9.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and shot 44 percent from three-point range... Scored in double figures 11 times, including a season high 24 points against Northeast Colorado in the NJCAA Finals (3/22/02).

High School: Attended Bratislava High School, graduating in 2001... Was named the Best Assistant (for assists) at the 1999 European Championships... Was also the second-highest scorer at the tournament and was named Best Player of the Tournament... Also competed in the 1999 Christmas International Tournament in Poland.

Personal: Parents are Milos Marek and Magda Marekova... She has one sister, Barbora Marekova, who plays professional basketball in France... Majoring in Business Administration.
