Schedule/Results | Roster | News | Archives Andrea Lightfoot's First Double-double of the Season Lifts Bengals to a Road Win Over Weber State 64-50
Feb. 1, 2008 Ogden, UT --- Andrea Lightfoot led the Bengals with 26 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season as the Bengals picked up a 64-50 road win over rival Weber State Friday night. Lightfoot also hit four three-pointers to become Idaho State's all-time leader in career three-pointers. She broke the record held by Chris Urbanski. Idaho State (14-6, 6-2 BSC) has now won four straight games against Weber State (8-12, 2-6 BSC). Lightfoot and national player of the year candidate Natalie Doma combined to score the first 19 points for the Bengals. Doma finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Only four Bengals put points on the scoreboard. The other two came off the bench with Bianca Cheever scoring 13 points and Oana Iacovita adding four points. The Bengals grabbed their biggest lead of the game with 3:05 remaining in the first half when they built up a 14 point cushion when Lightfoot hit her record breaking three-pointer. Idaho State went 6-22 from deep. The Wildcats went 1-4 from three-point land. Weber State responded by finishing the half with a 6-0 run, cutting Idaho State's halftime lead to just eight. The Wildcats began the second half the way they ended the first. They came out on a 9-3 run to take a 42-40 lead. During that stretch, things got a little testy when Doma was called for a technical foul after a series of hard fouls committed against her. The Bengals would calm down and clamped down defensively to shut down Weber State for the rest of the game. After being tied at 44-44, the Bengals held the Wildcats to just six points in the final 11:33 of the contest. The Wildcats last field goal of the game came with 6:28 remaining when Sara Tuomi scored two of her team leading 24 points. That made the score 55-50 in favor of Idaho State. Weber State would not score again in the game as the Bengals closed the game on a 9-0 run to pick up the 14 point win. Idaho State will now wait until next week for their next game when they travel down to Northern Colorado on February 9th.
