Idaho State is nearly halfway through its extreme road trip of seven straight to start the season with its fourth game against Utah State. The Bengals head into the match up coming off their first victory of the season over Alcorn State 67-50. ISU started the season with two losses against a tough Big East DePaul and Mountain West New Mexico. The Bengals held DePaul to just a six point lead at the half, but with a DePaul run in the second the Blue Demons ended with a margin of 18 points. Idaho State is now 0-3 against Big East schools. ISU has posted only three victory's against Mountain West schools (3-13) and garnered its second Southwestern Athletic conference victory for a 2-1 mark. Overall, the Bengals gained valuable learning experiences from each game.

About Idaho State
Idaho State posts a 1-2 record and have averaged 56.3 points per game. The Bengals are 34.9 percent at the line and have held their opponents to 39 percent. ISU guards the perimeter well as they out shoot their opponents 20 to 18 from the arc with both teams attempting 61 shots. Idaho State averages 36 rebounds a game. The Bengals have good anticipation was they have out blocked their opponents 15 to 11.

Player to Watch: Iacovita
Oana Iacovita leads the team in scoring averaging 12.3 points per game. Iacovita had an outstanding showing at the Travelers Tip-Off Tournament. She scored a career-high 22 points against Alcorn State and was named to the All-Tournament team. Iacovita leads the team in free throw percentage with .833 going 10-for-12 from the line. She is .500 from the field shooting 13-for-26. The 6-2 forward has even stepped outside the arc and was 1-for-2 against Alcorn State at the arc. Iacovita also leads the team in rebounds pulling down 24, three on the offense. She averages eight rebounds per game. She has had three blocked shots and has stolen the ball twice.

The Sky at a Glance
Idaho State has played more games than any other team in the Big Sky. Montana State leads with a 2-0 record defeating Utah Valley at Orem by 23 and North Dakota at home by seven. Both were high scoring games with 94 points against UVU and 85 against North Dakota. Montana, Northern Colorado and Portland State are all up 1-0, while Eastern Washington and Weber State are down 0-1. Sacramento State and Northern Arizona have posted two losses each.

Out of the Gates
Chelsea Pickering is a go-getter player that can produce out of the gates. Pickering put the first points on the board for either team against DePaul and New Mexico. She hit a jumper 1:02 into play against DePaul and hit a three-pointer 1:31 into play against New Mexico. Against Alcorn State Pickering scored the second shot for ISU, the fourth did not find an open shot the fourth of the game. However, Pickering came out sharp after the half and scored the first shot in the second half with a three-pointer just 22 seconds into the half.

New Nickname
The 5-3 guard Jenna Brown earned the nickname "The Feisty Jenna Brown" from KISU women's basketball announcer Mark Liptak over the weekend as she took the onslaught of verbal abuse of 6,799 fans during the Travelers Tip-Off Tournament game against New Mexico. Brown inadvertently knocked over a New Mexico fan favorite as she turned to run down court. Brown didn't the noise of the Lobos fans affect her as she was 2-for-5 from the field which included a solid shot from behind the arc. She made the most from her visit to the charity stripe sinking both shots. In total she earned seven points for the Bengals. Brown also pulled down two defense rebounds and made two assists.

KISU's women's basketball announcer Mark Liptak took his digital camera on the road and captured pictures of the team during their warm-up at The Pit for the Travelers Tip-Off Tournament.
