Sept. 4, 2009 KAYSVILLE, Utah - The Idaho State women's golf team placed fourth in its first outing of the fall season competing in the Weber State Invitational at the 5,979-yard, par-71 Davis Park Golf Course Friday. The tournament featured Weber State, Southern Utah University and Utah Valley University. Junior Sadie Venn led the Bengals individually posting a 78 (+7) and tying for seventh-place with Utah Valley's Brittney Butler and Southern Utah's duo of Kacy Buckner and Mikayla Williamson. Senior Katie Phillips placed 11th with an 8-over par 79 while sophomore Amanda Hendricks and junior Kylie Smith, separated by just one stroke, finished 15th and 17th respectively with an 81 and 82. Idaho State finished the tournament with a total of 320, 18 shots behind first-place Weber State (302). Utah Valley and Southern Utah tied for second with 312 apiece. The Bengals will return to action Monday, Sept. 14 at the two-day Bulldog and Eagle Invitational in Spokane, Wash. |
