Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational: Day Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Senior Katie Phillips finished the two-day Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational tied for 61st-place with a two-day total of 165 (+21). As a team, the Bengals finished 16th out of 16 schools with a score of 681.

Also scoring for Idaho State was freshman Kalee Gibbons who finished 76th after shooting an 88 (+16) in the first round Sunday and an 81 (+9) in Monday's round for a total of 169 (+25). Chipping in the third-best performance for ISU, freshman Julia DiGiallonardo tied for 83rd with a score of 173 (+29).

The remaining two Bengal golfers, juniors Kylie Smith and Sadie Venn finished 86th and tied for 88th respectively. Smith shot a 92 (+20) on Sunday and an 85 (+13) today for a total score of 177 (+33) at the tournament. Venn shot a 181 (+37) over the course of the event with an 89 (+17) in round one and a 92 (+20) in the second.

Cal State-Northridge won the event with a score of 591 followed by Northern Arizona with 592. Xavier rounded out the top three schools with 602. As for Big Sky competitors in attendance, Sacramento State finished fourth overall with 603 points, Weber State placed eighth with 626, Montana State shot a 635 for 10th place and Eastern Washington finished just 20 shots ahead of Idaho State with 661 for 15th place. CSUN's Ashlee Nagamine won the event on the individual side shooting a 76 (+4) in round one and a 66 (-6) in the second for a two-day total of 142 (-2).

The Lamkin Grip marks the final competition of Idaho State's fall season. The Bengals will not return to action until Saturday, Feb. 27, when the team travels to Sedona, Ariz., for the Red Rocks Invitational.
