Bengals Take 14th Place in Cal Poly Invitational

Arroyo Grande, CA--The ISU women's golf team finished the Lamkin Cup/Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational on Tuesday morning at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course. The Bengals took 14th place in the tournament with a two-round team score of 659(+83). The Bengals improved their team score in the second round with a score of 323(+35).

Senior, Hannah Venn leads the Bengals and improves her standing in the tournament to a tie for 11th place with a two-round score of 151(+7). Venn shot a 76(+4) in the first round and a 75(+3) in the second round. Katie Phillips tied for 40th place with a first round score of 84(+12) and a second round score of 78(+6) for a combined two-round score of 162(+18). Freshman, Sadie Venn tied for 88th place with a combined score of 168(+24). Alysia Hall tied for 88th place with a two-round score of 179. Emily Evans captured 94th place with a two-round score of 182(+38).

UC-Riverside held first place with a first and second round score of 299(+11) for a combined two-round score of 598(+22). Jennifer Bermingham of UC-Riverside captured 1st place with a two-round score of 142(-2). Bermingham shot an excellent first round with a score of 68(-4) and a second round score of 74(+2). The Bengals will continue to compete in the spring season.
