Complete Release in PDF Format BENGAL GOLF THIS WEEK The Idaho State women's golf team will travel to Spokane, Wash., for the Bulldog and Eagle Invitational co-hosted by Gonzaga University and Eastern Washington University. The tournament is a two-day event held at the 6,077-yard, par-72 Hangman Valley Golf Course Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15. It will feature a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. PST Monday. The Bengals will shoot 36 holes followed by an 18-hole final round Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. PST. The field will consist of 14 schools including Big Sky opponents Montana State, Northern Arizona, Montana and Eastern Washington. BENGAL CATCH-UP Idaho State placed fourth at the Weber State Invitational led by a standout performance by junior Sadie Venn. Venn shot a 78 and tied for seventh-place individually. As a team, the Bengals shot a 320, just 18 strokes behind tournament champion Weber State. LAST YEAR AT THE BULLDOG AND EAGLE INVITE The Bengals finished 14th at last year's competition just one stroke behind 13th-place Utah Valley. Kylie Smith led ISU shooting a 239 over the three-day period and tied for 29th-place overall. ISU COACHING STAFF Bengal Head Coach Kellie Hooper is in her first season with Idaho State. Hooper graduated from ISU in 1998 and served as a volunteer coach for the Bengals last season leading the team to their highest Big Sky Conference finish in five years. |
