Pocatello, ID--Senior defender Christina Beseris was named Big Sky Defensive Co-Player of the Week for the first time in her career for her effort in Idaho State's 4-0 victory over Weber State to earn the Bengals a third place seed in the Big Sky Conference Tournament. The honor is Idaho State's first defensive player of the week for the season and fourth overall award. She shares the honor with Eastern Washington's keeper Lisa Dimak.

Beseris closed out the regular season with a bang on senior day, in front of her hometown, as she anchored the backline in Idaho State's 4-0 victory over Weber State at Davis Field earning the Bengals a post season berth into the Big Sky Conference Tournament. Beseris was a driving force in holding Weber State to two shots on goal in ten attempts which resulted in a shutout, Idaho State's third of the season.

"I could not think of a player on my team who deserves it more," said head coach Allison Gibson. "For her to get that award; we vote tomorrow and I really want her to get on an All-Conference team. I think she deserves it."

The senior defender also recorded a goal and an assist. Beseris first assisted senior Annamarie Hofstetter in the first goal of the second half serving up a free kick to the midfielder who scored at the 70:48 mark. Beseris then went on to score Idaho State's fourth goal, the defender's second of her career, at the 80:34 mark when she connected with a header of a corner kick by Hofstetter.

Eastern Washington's Dimak shares the honor with Beseris as the Eagle posted her fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Montana. The road win propelled the Eagles to a second seed berth in the Big Sky Tournament, their first appearance since 2005. She also helped hold Montana to two shots on goal.

Northern Colorado's Marcie Johnson was named Offensive Player of the Week when she scored two goals and posted an assist during UNC's 4-0 victory over Northern Arizona to prevent the Lumberjacks from claiming the Big Sky regular season title.
