Andrea Wilson

Player Profile

Position:
Head Coach

Wilson enters her first season as the interim head coach of the Idaho State softball program after spending the previous two seasons as the top assistant coach with the program. She came to Idaho State when the program was resumed after a very successful playing career with Ricks College and the University of Oklahoma.

Wilson in her first two seasons served as the bench coach with Idaho State University, and she handled all aspects of the on-the-field coaching, including hitting, fielding, and baserunning.

As the interim head coach, she will handle all aspects of the program now as the team prepares to join the Pacific Coast Softball Conference for the 2010 season.

Andrea is a 2002 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she was a two-time All-Big 12 softball honoree. She helped the Sooners to the 2000 College Softball World Series, where her team defeated UCLA 3-1 to win the national title. The win also marked the first-ever women's national championship for Oklahoma. Her efforts during the 2000 season earned her the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year award.

Wilson also spent two years at Ricks College, earning an associates degree in 1999. Playing under coach Stocking at Ricks, Wilson was a two-time First Team All-American honoree. She was also named to the All-Region 18 team.

The second-year ISU assistant coach is a native of Taylorsville, Utah, and graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1997. Wilson was named the 1997 Utah State MVP after leading her softball team to the 5A State Championship.

Wilson and her husband Dylan have two daughters, Riley and Parker.
