Softball Drops Exhibition 3-0 to Netherlands National Team

Wailana Buchanan had ISU's only hit

March 6, 2008

Final Stats

Pocatello, ID --- Andrea Coburn pitched a solid game, allowing three runs to the Netherlands National team, but the Bengals could only muster one hit as they lost an exhibition game 3-0 at the Pepsi Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament. Since the game was not against an NCAA institution, it does not count for Idaho State's record.

Coburn allowed eight hits on the day and just three runs, allowing single runs in the second, fourth, and sixth innings. She also walked three and struck out four.

Offensively, Idaho State could only muster a second inning leadoff single by Wai Buchanan, but she was stranded there at first. ISU's best chance to score was in the third inning, when Merissa Jannsen and Heather Dixon walked with two outs. Designated player Ivy Sessions than drilled a liner down the third base line that was ticket for extra bases, but a nice play by third baseman Boekel kept the Bengals off the board.

Idaho State has a pair of games on Friday, taking on #22 Washington at 3:00 pm Mountain time, and then Southern Illinois at 5:00 pm. The game vs. Washington will be broadcast on the web through Washington's website www.gohuskies.com, along with Gametracker information as well.
