Assistant Coach Tom Goodwin


Tom Goodwin enters his 14th year with the Bengals as he served as a volunteer coach for the 2008-09 season. He previously spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach for the Idaho State University men's and women's tennis teams.

The California native and Idaho State alumnus is in his seventh season as assistant coach after serving four years as a volunteer assistant.

Goodwin was a standout, first at Rio Hondo Community College in California, then at Idaho State, in tennis.

He helped RHCC to a pair of conference team championships during his two years there. He was undefeated in both singles and doubles in each of his two season at RHCC. In 1978 he took second in the Southern California State Championship in doubles. He was named Team MVP as a freshman.

After his time at RHCC he moved to Pocatello to compete for the Bengals. He was named Team MVP in his first season.

Goodwin has been married to the former Rhonda Sabel for 17 years. The couple have two children, Joshua (11) and Macy (10). Goodwin has also been the owner of Goody's Deli in Pocatello for 23 years.
