Track Notes: 2008 Big Sky Indoor Conference 
REVIEW
The Bengals have had an impressive season filled with first place finishes, shattering of school records and meeting NCAA provisional qualifying standards. Track and Field looks to make their mark on the 2008 Big Sky Indoor Conference this Friday and Saturday which they will be hosting at Holt Area. Last year in Conference the Bengal women finished in 2nd place while the men captured 7th place.
COMPETITORS
Idaho State will have 36 men competing (nine seniors, seven juniors, six sophomores and 14 freshman), while the Bengal women will have 39 athletes competing (nine seniors, nine juniors, nine sophomores and 12 freshman).
Bengals to watch will be Junior Cassie Merkley in the pentathlon, seniors Nathan Capps and Levi Keller in the heptathlon as well as respective events through out the competition. In the sprints the men will be led by freshman Sergio Jones and the women by Merkley. The Bengals will be led in the hurdles by Merkley for the women and Capps and Dmitry Beresnev for the men. In the middle distance the Bengals have seen strong performances by Trinelle McKinley and in the distance spot senior Lois Ricardi has been impressive. For the men's middle distance watch junior Darin Williams and for the distance runs senior Saheed Khan and junior John Ricardi, they will be a driving force for the Bengals.
Sydney Wendt will be a strength in the jumps for the women as well as junior Jacob Keller, senior Ben Layman and Jones for the men. In the shot put and weight throws watch the power of junior Jed Sion and sophomore Carrie Talbot. In the pole vault keep your eyes open for Kasie Scott and Kylee Gleason for the women and Levi Keller for the men.
MEET SPECIFICS
The meet will start Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. with the men's 60-meter dash heptathlon event. The women's pentathlon that will finish on Friday begins with the 60-meter hurdle at 9:45 p.m. Friday's running events begin at 4:30 p.m. and the field events begin at 3:30 p.m.
The final three events in the heptathlon begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The finals in the rest of the field events kick off at 10:30 a.m., while the running events start at 12:05 p.m. with the mile run. The meet's final events are the Holiday Inn of Pocatello 4x400-meter relay that begins at 2:40 p.m.
The women will run first in all track events. Holt Arena is equipped with a 200-meter banked track with a plywood surface. Results will be updated through the day and can be found at www.isubengals.com.
