2005: Was the team leader in assists with 808 on the season... Ranked seventh in the Big Sky Conference, averaging 7.70 assists per game... Opened the season with a season-best .571 hitting percentage with four kills and no errors against Utah (8/26)... Recorded 20 or more assists in 22 matches... Posted a career-high 59 assists against Montana State (11/17) in the first round of the Big Sky Conference Tournament... Had three double-doubles on the season, including a 55-assist, 14-dig effort against Northern Arizona (11/5)... Averaged 1.04 kills a game, and had an 8-kill night against Montana State at the Big Sky Tournament... Was impressive against Montana (11/12), tallying 45 assists, nine digs, and three blocks. High School: An impressive player for Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon... As a senior at Sheldon, Bevens received First Team All-State honors, First Team All-League honors, and Most Valuable Player honors... Led SHS to three consecutive league championships... Was named the team's Most Valuable Player as a senior and was the team captain the past two seasons... Impressive in the classroom as well... A National Honor Society executive board member as a senior... Named Top History Student and Most Supportive Student at SHS... Personal: Parents are Debbie and Brad Bevens... Has two siblings, Ashley and Brad. Head Coach Welch on Bevens: "Amanda is an athletic setter who earned a starting position in her freshman campaign. Her set accuracy has improved this spring. She increased her attack percentage from a .266 in the fall to an impressive .473 this spring. Amanda should be a major threat as one of the top setters in the Big Sky." |
