Brinton was named second team All-Big Sky Conference and Big Sky Newcomer of the Year in her first season with the Bengals, becoming the third Bengal and the first since 1991 to earn the honor. Brinton, a transfer from BYU, excelled in her first season with the team, averaging a conference-best 11.34 assists per game, 2.50 digs per game, 0.41 blocks per game and 1.43 kills per game. She had two triple-doubles in 2003, tying her for second in the Big Sky, and 12 double-doubles. She already ranks eighth all-time at ISU in assists with 1,108.
2003: Played in 103 games for the Bengals in 2003... Was named Big Sky Newcomer of the Year... Also named second team All-Big Sky Conference... Led the Big Sky Conference in assists per game with 11.34... Was second in the conference with two triple-doubles... Had a triple-double against Saint Peters (9/5) with 10 kills, 48 assists, and 17 digs... Also tallied a triple-double against Montana (10/25) with 10 kills, 52 assists, and 18 digs.... Recorded 12 double-doubles... Tallied a career-high 67 assists against UNLV (9/13)... The 67 assists against Montana was the second-best performance in the Big Sky in 2003... Recorded 1168 assists on the season--the 10th most in team history... Had a season-high 18 digs against Montana (10/25)... 2001-02: Served her LDS mission in Switzerland and Germany. 2000: Played in just six matches, but made the most of it, showing improvement in all categories... Averaged an impressive 9.67 assists per game in limited action... Saw the court for the first time of the season against Temple, picking up one kill and four assists in a game of action (9/16)... Followed that up with six assists against UNLV in the next match (9/22)... Had a career-high 37 assists, along with two digs, one kill and one block in two games against Air Force(11/9)... Played against Air Force, posting five assists (10/13)... Had six assists, a kill and a dig against San Diego State (10/20). 1999: Saw limited action playing setter behind All-American Anna-Lena Smith... Played in eight matches and had 22 assists... Had a then career-high eight assists and a service ace in one game against New Mexico (10/25)... Averaged 2.75 assists per game... Averaged 0.12 service aces/game. High School: Received numerous honors for Highland High School... Was named Freshman-of-the-Year... Twice was named team MVP... A four-year All-Region II selection... All a two-time all-state honoree in Utah... Earned Salt Lake Tribune Prep of the Week recognition... Was the Utah state recordholder for assists in a match (55) when she graduated... Also played basketball and softball for HHS, receiving All-State honors in softball... A strong student, Brinton was a five-year Honor Roll and Citizenship Roll member, as well as a four-year National Honor Society member... In club volleyball she helped lead the Elite Utah Juniors to the 1997 Region title and the national runner-up spot in the Club Division... Her Klub Boom squad won the 1998 region championship and earned a top-24 finish in the Open Division at nationals... Was a 1997 All-Region selection in club volleyball. Personal: Parents are Ralph and Evyonna Brinton... Has three brothers (Paul, David and Andrew) and two sisters (Jeni and Sara)... Major is History Education... Minoring in German.
