Kinnison is an All Big Sky Academic honoree


2002: Saw action in 17 matches, totaling 34 kills and 25 blocks... Received her first start of the season against Montana State and responded with seven kills and five blocks (10/4)... Also had a season high 21 attacks against Montana State... The next night came back with seven kills and five more blocks against Montana (10/5)... Wrapped up her solid three-game stretch with six kills and five blocks against Portland State (10/10)... Tied her season high with 21 attack against Eastern Washington (10/12).

2001: Recorded 27 kills on 101 attempts, 37 digs, 12 blocks and 10 service aces in 50 games of action... Recorded a career-high seven digs twice during the season, in ISU's 3-0 win over Oklahoma at the Wyoming Tournament and against Sacramento State midseason... Season-high 11 attacks came against Utah... Boasted a .800 hitting percentage against Montana-Western with four kills on five attacks... Served up four aces in the win over Oklahoma... Tallied a season-best three blocks against Texas-Arlington at the Wyoming Tournament.

High School: A three-year varsity player at Stockdale High School... Was voted All-Southwest Yosemite League and All-Area by the Bakersfield Californian in 1999... Her team won the Valley Division I Championship and advanced to the semifinals of the California State Tournament in 1997... Earned team MVP that season... Owns the school record for number of unassisted blocks in a game with 17... Team also finished seventh out of 251 teams at the prestigious Volleyball Festival... Played club volleyball for the Kern River Volleyball Club... Won the Stockdale Student-Athlete Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in 1997, 1998 and 1999... A four-time student-athlete and academic excellence award winner... Earned the CSF Scholar Award.

Personal: Parents are Suzanne and Dana Kinnison... Majoring in Dental Hygiene.

Head Coach Mike Welch on Kinnison: "Heather has improved so much since last fall. Her hard work has paid off. She runs a fast offense and closes the block well. Heather proved to be our most efficient hitter this spring. That is a big statement with the quality teammates she has. It is all coming together for Heather to have a big senior year."
