Continued her improvement in her second full season, posting career highs in nearly every category and dramatically improving her attack percentage... Will again be a key to the Bengals offensive success... Played club volleyball for the High Country team which was national runner-up at the 2001 Junior Olympics and featured ISU teammates, Heather Gilmore, Kylie Gilmore, Via Filipe and Ashleigh Sayer.
2003: Had an impressive third season with the Bengals... Became ISU's block leader in 2003, leading the team with 1.30 a game... Will again be an offensive and defensive weapon for the Bengals in 2004... Played club volleyball for the High Country team which was national runner-up at the 2001 Junior Olympics . 2002: Finished first on the team in blocks (66), second in attack percentage (.205) and fifth in kills (152)... Had five matches in double figures in kills, including a season high 18 against Montana-Western (9/4)... Also had her highest attack percentage of the season with a .467 mark against MWC... Followed up her match against MWC with 12 more kills against Wyoming (9/9)... Also had 10 or more kills against Columbia, Boise State and Montana State... Had at least one block in 20 of 27 matches, including a season high six twice... Had six block assists against Oregon (9/2)... Tied that season high with six blocks against Wyoming... Had a career high two service aces against Northern Arizona (10/25)... Also had a career high three digs against NAU.
2001: Saw action in all 29 of ISU's matches, playing in 97 of the team's 101 games... Tallied 193 kills (1.99 kpg), 58 blocks, 31 digs and three assists on the season... Her blocks per game average ranked third on the team (0.60)... Boasted a career-high 22 kills against Sacramento State, the third-highest single match total on the team... Registered six matches with double figure kill totals... Recorded a .462 hitting percentage with 9 kills on 13 total attacks in the season-opening 3-0 win against Portland... Tallied a career-high 51 attacks against Montana, during which she recorded 17 kills.. Led the team in kills three times during the season, twice with 18 and once with 22... Put up a career-high eight blocks in ISU's 3-2 win over Oregon... Credited with a season-best four digs against Montana State. High School: Started two years at Bingham High School and one year at Pocatello High School... Helped lead Bingham's 2000 team to a fourth-place finish at the Utah State High School Championships... Earned First-Team All-Region accolades... A member of USA Volleyball's Intermountain Region High Performance team in 1999, 2000 and 2001... A National Honor Society member... Attended the Idaho State Volleyball camps, while growing up in Pocatello. Personal: Parents are Karlie and Kirk Olsen... Brother, Kendall, plays football at Utah State. Head Coach Mike Welch on Olsen: "Kamie has worked hard to become one of the top blockers in the conference. She takes up a lot of space at the net. Kamie has worked hard to improve her lateral speed, and is working well with our outside blockers. Offensively, she has been making spectacular plays and bouncing the ball well. Look for Kamie to come and play big during her senior year."
