Had an impressive freshman season with the Bengals... A talented libero, VanderBloomen will se quality time again as a sophomore...
2003: Played in 29 matches and a team-leading 105 games for the Bengals... Was second on the team in digs with 341 on the season... Averaged 3.25 digs a contest... Tallied a season-high 20 digs twice... Tallied 10 or more digs in 19 matches... Her one kill of the season came against Northern Arizona (11/14)... High School: Was a standout for Capistrano Valley High School the last four years, earning All-South Coast League honors as a senior... Also was a strong performer for Saddleback Valleyball Volleyball Club, playing for six years... Was club team captain all six years with the team... Helped the team to a pair of strong finishes at the Volleyball Festival Tournament, with a fourth place finish in 2000 and a seventh place showing in 2001. Personal: Parents are Len and Colette VanderBloomen... Has three brothers, Adam, Eric and Luke... Plans to major in Psychology at ISU. Head Coach Mike Welch on VanderBloomen: "Ashley is a winner.
