Oct. 9, 2006 It was yet another crazy week here in Pocatello with Idaho State volleyball. We had three games this past week, one more than usual. We started the week out a little different from a normal week. We played University of Utah on Tuesday. Utah is one of the top-20 teams in the nation. This was followed by two conference games, first against Northern Arizona University and then Sacramento State. Our game against Utah was a lot of fun. We played well and did some great things. We passed really well and played exceptional defense, including floor defense and blocking. We ended up losing in three, over all we played well but we didn't play our best and that's what it takes to beat a team like Utah. On Thursday we played NAU. We won the first two games, lost the second two, and then went on to win the fifth game. Our match went to five games even though we should have taken it in three. We also had another conference game this past Saturday. We played Sacramento at home. We played very well the first game only losing by a small margin. We can't say the same about our last two games. We are working out the glitches and we are looking forward to our second round of the Big Sky Conference. Our spotlight player this week is Ms. Zoe Beltz. She is front Southern California. Zoe went to a private all girls' school called Presentation High school. She was involved in all kinds of sports. She was a great basketball, volleyball, and softball player. She also loves spending time on the beach where she used to spend a lot of time surfing. Zoe has a very close family and she loves to go home to visit whenever she gets the chance. Zoe is a sophomore middle block on the Idaho State University volleyball team. She loves the game and also loves life. So next time you get a chance to watch ISU Bengal volleyball don't forget to watch out for Ms. Zoe Beltz Bengal fans. |
