Bengal Diary -- Entry #12

Entry #12

Nov. 3, 2005

VICTORY!!!! After the match, some of the conversation between the Bengals was about a bunch of rowdy fans for the Wildcats. My favorite comment came from Jessica Gurney's family when they stated that when we played our game, they (the fans in purple) became quiet real fast. I think that says it all.

We played our game, and their fans became quiet. Now we are ready to get Reed louder than ever. It is time for the Bengals to have a little bit of fun this season, and we are ready, we've decided to win.

The Bengals were "ready to play" said Asst. coach Mika Robinson after warm up on Saturday night. This is the first time that everyone has come prepared and ready to play in a long time. There is something that can be said when the visiting team in the gym is louder than the home team and their fans combined. This weekend we made a decision. And in this conference, that is what it takes to be a champion. The decision was to play the game that we drove down there (Ogden, UT) to play. This is a decision that lone senior Felice Yocopis made early in her career.

She's said all season that it is not what we say, but what we personally decide to do. I could not have said it better myself. Saturday, we made a decision to play the way we practice, and it was fun to watch. It was fun for those in orange, and not so fun to watch if you were in purple. Just the way we like it.
