Bengal Volleyball Diary - Final Entry

Final Entry

Nov. 13, 2006

We started our week off with a final home game tribute to our four seniors on Tuesday. It was a really great night. Our team played well and we came out with a victory over the Aggies of Utah State. Our three seniors, that played, had great nights. Bri Beal broke the record for single number of digs in a single season; this was a great accomplishment for her. Nikki Havens and Karli Maughan, both had great nights on the front row. They had some outstanding hits and great blocks to lead our team to a fun final home game. I'm sure you're curious where I got the number four seniors from. One of our assistant coaches Lisa Bushman is a senior, she was injured her sophomore year and tried to come back last year and was unable to gain full ability. With further complications she decided to coach this year. She is very knowledge about volleyball, and we have really enjoyed her as our coach. We felt it fit to honor her along with all of her class mates as a senior.

We trained hard this past week in hopes that our dreams of going to the Big Sky Tournament would come true. To our dismay, Weber State beat Northern Colorado on Thursday night knocking us out of the Big Sky Tournament. We are pressing forward into a few weeks of hard training before we finish up the semester and everyone heads home to spend the holidays with their families. We would like to thank you for all of your support this season and we look forward to a great season next year. GO BENGALS!!
