Complete Women's Utah Valley Invitational Results Orem, UT --- Gemma Maini earned another Top 5 finish, leading the Idaho State women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Utah Valley Invitational on Friday in Orem, Utah. The Bengals scored 67 points, behind event winner and Big Sky foe Weber State, but ahead of event host Utah Valley and a partial squad from BYU. Maini completed the 5K course in a time of 19:03.8 to place fifth, earning her third Top 5 finish of the season. Maini won the ISU meet on Aug. 30 at the Centennial Course and also placed fourth in the Bob Firman Invitational on Sept. 20 in Boise. Freshman Kris Thomasberg ran a 19:31.8 to finish 13th, and her second-place finish among ISU runners was her strongest performance of the season. Sophomore Erica Wendt ran a 19:39.1 to finish 15th. The rest of Idaho State's runners were Kerynn Davis (21st, 19:50.1), Cydney Jacobsen (25th, 19:55.7), Parris Hodges (33rd, 20:16.9), Mandi Janowitz (34th, 20:17.6), Chealse Kropushek-Miller (39th, 20:33.9), Bradi Hutchison (44th, 20:42.8) and Candida Butler-Rowan (63rd, 22:34.3). The men's and women's cross country teams are both in action on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Southern Utah Invitational in Cedar City, Utah. |
