July 9, 2007 New Orleans, LA --- Idaho State's track programs have racked up three titles in the past three years, proving their mettle on the court. Now, both the men's and women's track/cross country programs have been honored for their of the field performance as well, as both teams were honored as All-Academic programs for their outstanding team grade point averages by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In addition, eight individuals were named as to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team. To earn the individual honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and obtain either an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either indoor or outdoor track. On the men's side, Levi Keller and John Ricardi were named to the All-Academic team, while on the women's side Audra Smith, Cassie Merkeley, Kasie Scott, Katie Williams, Lois Ricardi, and Tiffany Andersen were all named. Last year the women's team won their first ever Big Sky Title at the 2007 Outdoor Championships, while the men's side won indoor Big Sky titles in 2005 and 2006. |
