Idaho State cross country opened their season on a hot Saturday morning at the centennial course against Southern Utah University in Pocatello, ID. The Bengals had two 2nd place finishers; Saheed Kahn for the men's team and Gemma Maini for the women's team.

Head Coach Janssen believes the Bengals have the ability to continue to improve. "They are still learning to run together as a team," said Head Coach Janssen about the Idaho State Dual meet. "This meet was a good learning experience."
MEN'S RESULTS
The ISU men were overcome by SUU. The Bengals finished with 34 points. SUU had 21 points on the day. Saheed Khan led the Bengals with a second place finish and a time of 19:50 in the 6-kilometer race. Taylor Hansen followed with a 6th place finish and a time of 20:11. Idaho State ran together as they took the 9th through 12th place spots. Landen Teeter placed 9th with a time of 20:27. Branden Teeter followed close behind with a 10th place finish and a time of 20:41. Freshman, Aaron Wolfe ran well and placed 11th with a 20:50 time. Tysun Rickards finished the 6-kilometer race in the 12th spot and a time of 20:54.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
The ISU women finished with 43 points. SUU had 19 points on the day. The women's team was defeated by SUU 21-34. Gemma Maini led the women's team with a second place finish and a time of 10:53 in the 3-kilometer race. Kerynn Davis finished in the 9th spot with a time of 11:39.01. Freshman, Haiden Siepert finished the race with an 11th place finish and a time of 12:05. Jessica Bobert finished the 3-kilometer race with a time of 12:58 and a 14th place finish. Chelsea McEwen followed close behind with a time of 13:02 for the 15th place finish. April Jaynes and Candida Butler tied with a 16th place finish and a time of 13:24.
