Idaho State traveled to Orem, Utah on Oct. 3 to compete in the Utah Valley Invitational. The women's squad finished third out of five teams, scoring 67 points, and the men finished third with 58 points. Gemma Maini led the women with a fifth place finish, her third Top 5 showing of the year, and Ryan Davis led the men's team for the fourth time in four races, finishing 12th overall.

ABOUT THE COLOR COUNTRY INVITATIONAL
ISU will compete against Utah Valley, Southern Utah and Dixie State this weekend. Southern Utah won first place in both races at the Idaho State dual on Aug. 30, and both squads are ranked 15th in this week's USTFCCCA Mountain Region rankings.

MEN'S RESULTS
ISU finished third at the Utah Valley Invitational, scoring 58 points to come in behind event host and winner Utah Valley, as well as a partial squad from BYU. Sophomore Zach Barrett turned in a strong performance in his first meet of the season after recovering from an injury, running a 16:45.8 on the 5K course to finish 20th. Ryan Davis again posted the Bengals' best time, running a 16:32.5 to finish 12th. The rest of Idaho State's runners were Logan Torgison (22nd, 16:51.0), Eric Strand (37th, 17:27.7), Aaron Wolfe (38th, 17:29.5), Chaz Anestos (41st, 17:51.1), Kyle Sauer (47th, 18:24.8) and Erik Solberg (51st, 19:19.7).

WOMEN'S RESULTS
The Bengals finished third in Orem, scoring 67 points and finishing behind Weber State and an independent team but topping Utah Valley and a partial BYU team. Gemma Maini recorded her third Top 5 of the season, running the 5K course in 19:03.8 to finish 5th. Freshman Kris Thomasberg took her turn as the Bengals' second strongest runner, finishing 13th in 19:31.8. The rest of the Bengals' top seven runners were Erica Wendt (15th, 19:39.1), Kerynn Davis (21st, 19:50.1), Cydney Jacobsen (25th, 19:55.7), Parris Hodges (33rd, 20:16.9) and Mandi Janowitz (34th, 20:17.6).
