Bengal Cross Country Travels to Utah for SUU Color Country Invitational

ABOUT THE COLOR COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

The Idaho State men and women's cross country teams will travel to Cedar Ctiy, Utah Saturday for the Southern Utah Color Country Invitational held at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course. The ISU women enter the week ranked No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Mountain Region poll. Racing will begin with the men at 9 a.m followed by the women's competition at 9:45 a.m. Last year, the Bengal women won the Color Country Invitational behind three top 10 performances led by Gemma Maini(second, 18:52.80) and followed by Kris Thomasberg (fifth, 19:20.70) and Erica Wendt (eighth, 19:36.00). The ISU men took third place at the event behind Southern Utah and Utah Valley. Ryan Davis led the pack with a ninth-place finish.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BENGAL MEN

The ISU men's cross country team finished second at the Bon Firman Invitational Saturday, Sept. 26 in Boise, Idaho. Senior John Ricardi won the 8K race with a time of 25:25.16 while junior Ryan Davis finished 10th and second for the Bengals with a time of 25:49.10. ISU finished with a team score of 59, 34 points behind first-place Boise State.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BENGAL WOMEN

For the second straight year in a row the Bengal women's cross country team finished second at the Bob Firman Invitational with a team score of 44, just 16 points behind No. 25 Brigham Young University. ISU had three runners place in the top 10 including senior Gemma Maini who finished third overall. She was followed by junior Erica Wendt-Richardson (fifth) and senior Kerynn Davis (ninth).
